The Newman Catholic Collegiate

Growing together for life
"Our Collegiate motto “Growing Together for Life” reflects our aspiration to provide the very best intellectual, spiritual, and moral formation for all our pupils, as they grow in the knowledge and love of God, their neighbour and themselves. We strive to grow together as a family of schools that celebrates the unique, God-given dignity of each person. Our community, though diverse, is bound together by our shared vision and values, and inspired by the example of our patron, St John Henry Newman. The Catholic Faith is central to our life, vision and identity. However, our inclusive schools’ welcome pupils from Catholic families, families from other Christian denominations, families from other world faiths, and families with no religious background." (Director)

"Being a part of the Newman Catholic Collegiate gives us an opportunity as governors to meet with governors of other schools in our MAC. This supports us in our role in supporting and challenging the school. I have particularly enjoyed the liaison meetings as an opportunity to focus on my link governor role." (Governor)

"Being part of the Newman Catholic Collegiate has allowed us all to grow as a group of Catholic Schools. Working together to provide the best possible 3-19 education. Utilising the strengths of all our schools allows us to grow together for life." (CSEL/AO)

"Outstanding CPD opportunities within Collegiate schools have allowed me to grow as a Catholic school leader." (Headteacher)

"The MAC has provided me, as Science Subject Lead, with opportunities to develop my leadership skills such as through the Middle Management courses and further through professional conversations and regular meetings with other subject leaders. The links across the MAC schools have ensured the sharing of science expertise which has allowed me to continue to design and develop the curriculum with the best possible opportunities for the children in mind." (Teacher)

"I love being part of a Collegiate. I have been able to visit the High school lots to do things that I would not be able to in my primary school. The best thing we do is the amazing summer school where we go on trips and have climbing walls and do fun things. I feel really proud to attend celebration masses across the area when I can sit with my school and collegiate community." (Pupil)

"Every school is unique, each with its own challenges, however being able to draw on the combined strengths in knowledge and experience across the Collegiate as a whole is invaluable in my role as Academy Office Manager." (MAC staff member)

"My children are able to take part in events as part of Newman Catholic Collegiate. It is great to see all of the children from the different schools come together. I particularly like the holiday clubs that were provided during the summer holidays." (Parent)
