St John Paul II Multi Academy

“I am grateful to the MAC as the Sixth Form now has a lovely new centre for study and relaxation. This has helped hugely with our sense of belonging and community and has given many of us a renewed motivation to achieve. Facilities such as our own canteen and resources such as the plasma screen for keeping up to date with news gives us a sense of responsibility, maturity and independence.”  (Student)

“To me being part of the St John Paul ll Mac means that we are able to link up with all of the MAC schools for communal religious services, Masses and alms giving, creating a real sense of community and enables us to live out our Gospel Values more fully.”  (Student)

“The St John Paul II community has a big family feel to it which is built on a shared faith and creates a wonderful learning environment for children to grow and flourish.”  (Parent)

“I am proud to be part of a family of Catholic Schools, sharing experiences with children across our area.” (Parent)

"The SJPII MAC has children at the heart of all decisions at all levels.  Each school has retained its own individuality, but we are united through our shared vision.  As a Principal I have felt incredibly supported by our MAC leadership team during what has been a challenging time for us all.  In our MAC you are never on your own.”  (Principal)

“I am immensely proud and humbled to be involved with the St. John Paul II Multi Academy Company.  We are an ambitious Multi Academy with very high aspirations for the young people and diverse communities, which we serve.  Our Catholic values underpin everything we do.”  (Director)

“Each school within our Multi Academy has Christ at the very heart of all that it is and does, this manifests into delivering the finest learning environment for all, and seeks to provide inspirational experiences to help our young people achieve their potential, equipping them to become active and responsible members of the community in the ever-changing world in which we live.” (Director)

“The collaboration across the John Paul II MAC is fantastic. This is the first time I have been a Chair of Governors and have found stakeholders at all levels approachable and supportive. It is truly unique to be able to draw on the experience of colleagues across nine different schools to ensure that, as a Catholic community, we achieve the four pillars of our academy vision of Catholicity, solidarity, subsidiarity and accountability enabling our children to become the people God has called them to be.”  (Governor)

“Since the foundation of the St John Paul II multi-academy I have witnessed several changes for the better in our schools. Firstly the way in which senior teachers are more able to support one another, particularly with the more unusual and infrequent  demands like Ofsted place upon them. The way in which the academy has been able to show greater support for teaching staff that was not possible in a single school - for example access to free medical care/advice. Then there is the sense of being part of a family of schools where staff can discuss, monitor and improve pupil progress in varying subjects across the schools. One particularly impressive success (two years running) was the appointing of NQT's before they fully completed their courses and before vacancies occurred in schools allowing the multi-academy to choose from the best candidates available and have the certainty of full teaching capacity at the beginning of a new school year. Finally, the multi-academy allowed us to respond to the DES with a request to help a school in special measures, which no single school in the area could have done.”  (Priest)

"In times of great change and financial constraints in education, our best resource is the staff within our Academy.  With such a wealth and variety of skills, good practice and creative ideas can be shared in a community with a shared vision and purpose.  With joint projects to improve the faith life of our schools as well as the quality of teaching and learning, schools enjoy a true sense of belonging to a thriving and innovative Catholic community whilst maintaining their own identities; this is our strength.”  (MAC Staff member)

VA Schools to join St John Paul II Multi Academy

Approval by the governing body of a voluntary aided school will be sought prior to any application for an academy order being made to join formally a multi academy family of schools. We hope all will work together co-responsibly to achieve the common good for current and future generations of children.  Do please review related information on the Multi Academy page.
