Birmingham Archdiocesan Multi Academy Vision July 2024

His Grace, Archbishop Bernard Longley, has asked that the DES work with our schools in a spirit of unity and hope to create the first inaugural large, strong, and flourishing Catholic Multi-Academy Trust (CMAT) in our Archdiocese. Following careful consideration, the first CMAT will be created in the north of the diocese to open on 1st September, 2025. By bringing together the multitude of talents and resources available within our larger, stronger, and flourishing CMATs, we will be able to provide enhanced support and opportunities for staff, parishes, and communities.

In our flourishing Archdiocese, every young person is at the heart of the Mission and, as stewards, we have the opportunity to secure the very best Catholic education for future generations. Now is the time to flourish together so that our collective God-given talents are truly realised for the benefit of all children in our Catholic schools.
