For primary schools:

Every time you donate to CAFOD this Lent, it will be matched pound for pound by the Government.

Nearly a billion people don’t have access to clean water. Many have no choice but to walk for hours to fetch dirty water from the nearest river. This is the only water they have – they have to drink it, wash with it and bathe in it. And because the water is dirty, it can cause disease. By raising money for CAFOD (and between 17 Feb and 17 May, every pound your school raises will be matched by the Government), your pupils can support projects all around the world that ensure people have clean water. CAFOD’s partners are digging wells and boreholes, installing rainwater tanks, building hygienic toilets, training communities about the importance of sanitation and campaigning for fairer water distribution. cafod.org.uk/primary

For secondary schools:

Every time you donate to CAFOD this Lent, it will be matched pound for pound by the Government. Nearly a billion people don’t have access to clean water. Diseases caused by dirty water claim more lives than any war. Every 20 seconds a child dies from diseases caused by dirty water and poor sanitation. It doesn’t need to be this way. CAFOD has lots of great ideas to get young people doing something amazing this Lent: giving something up, to help us raise money to provide clean water around the world.
