Supporting Acting Headship
The DES provides this document in order to support the Chair of Governors in particular with the process of appointing an acting headteacher. The document also provides useful advice to headteachers taking on the role of acting headteacher in another school or in a collaborative arrangement in the role as acting executive headteacher.
